Gideon Okeke: From Ajegunle to Stardom

Who is Gideon Okeke, Is he an over rated actor as Chuks Nwanne imagined?

An only child of Mr. and Mrs. Okeke from Abagana, Anambra State, Gideon was born and brought up in Ajegunle, a suburb of Lagos,

Aside from his great dress sense, Gideon has good command of the English language, with good diction.

In addition, he has information regarding great filmmakers and movies at his fingertips, yet, he prides himself as an ‘Ajegunle boy.’

He attended one of the best schools around, Navy Secondary School and went on to graduate from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka with a biochemistry degree.

His journey into entertainment dates back to his days in AJ City where he acted on stage with fellow kids for fun.

When Big Brother Nigeria came calling he suspended his project for some months to go for the audition in Lagos, he was selected and the rest is history.

The day, the Big Brother crew came to his house in Ajegunle to interview him; they had a crew of nine white guys and three blacks.

In Ajegunle then, when you see a white guy, it’s a big deal. Then nine of them came with equipment and set up in his father’s house to talk to him. He recollects clearly and says that was his most memorable day, his biggest moment.

Since that Big Brother association, doors have continued to open for this young humble Ajegunle boy, from Multichoice Tinsel, Money Drop to other thespian engagements. He has established himself as a star act, and the journey continues.

I love life, love God and am a collector of rare items like the ash of a phoenix, egg of a unicorn, tears of an Angel and I drink pap with chopsticks.
Creativity found me, though I wasn't lost and am still paying the price of a chosen one.
It has always been the nature of man to confuse genius with insanity.
